William Pohl III

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

“Good farmland investing is mostly patience and humility. The soil and the seasons are in charge; we just keep faith with them.”

Biography

A land-first approach to capital.

William Pohl III is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Arcia Farmland Partners. He built the firm for enduring capital — the pensions, endowments, and family offices that measure farmland returns in decades, not quarters.

Under his leadership, Arcia has assembled a platform anchored by more than $120 billion in committed capital, spanning ten fund strategies across five American agricultural regions, underwritten with an operator-led, water-first discipline.

His approach treats soil as capital to be rebuilt, water as the first question in any acquisition, and the operator — not the acre — as the true engine of return.

We do not buy acres. We back operators who make acres productive.
